Study on Fiber Clogging Mechanism in Sewage Pump Based on CFD–DEM Simulation

A large number of solid particles and fibrous impurities are always entrained in the fluid transported by a sewage pump, which can easily lead to blockage pump. In view this, CFD–DEM simulations were conducted this paper reveal fiber clogging mechanism coupling method with model was established verified an experimental benchmark, i.e., rectangular flow channel. The then applied pump to, after mesh independence tests, analyze effects rate length on motion clogging. results showed that position retention coincides vortex, mainly located at inlet impeller, head blade, middle tongue case low rate, more likely cause would wind around At same long stay blade’s suction surface.
